Every year, on Pchum Ben day, all citizens gather together with their family members, especially with their parents at their hometowns, to prepare food to give to the monks living in pagodas. This has been the traditional practice of Cambodian Buddhists for a long time. The Kan Ben and Pchum Ben festivals in 2022 take place from 11-25 September 2022.
